@ Scott not scot - If you read my post you'll see I already commented I wasn't sure about the stem. It's a Nitto Technomic that I got real cheap, and actually that's the lowest it will go! So it's not jacked up (so there ner!). But each to their own brother, and you're entitled to your opinion.
I love your comment about clueless dad borrowing son's mountain bike. As one of the reasons for getting that stem is that I wanted to put a kids front seat on for my son. And needed to make sure there was enough room beneath the bars for his legs. But until I get a back brake on I'm not gonna put him on there.
@ Tynan - Thanks for the common sense post. I am now hurriedly building a light saber quill stem with a 'fuck-off' extension in your honour ;)
