the very first line of this thread is "Hi guys / gals not wishing to steal thunder from the beloved brick lane court but.." there was a very good reason for this. Diversity is the key to keeping polo interesting, most of us southerners make the 10 or mile trek to brick lane or north london on thursdays, to see other people and to get in a different type of polo. Your floating game has managed to settle quite nicely on a wedsnesday when there was already a polo night. I'm not annoyed that polo is being played somewhere other than south london, people can do what they like and telling me to go east dosn't fix the south london polo scene/night. I just want to encourage more newbs to come and play, get people started this winter the way most of us did last winter. Brick lane isn't really conducive to rstarter' polo, because of all the hanging around there making it nervous for newbs. Peckham is very encouraging, fast and diversive. I'm perfectly happy to play polo somewhere central too, but THIS thread is about south london polo, so don't muddy the water. Peckham would like to see the likes of everyone grace it's beautiful and picturesque car park, but if you can't be arsed to put the miles in, fine just don't come on trying to make south london somewhere more northern. Lee mate good to see you on the thread. Wibble i'll look forward to meeting you. Hops winter = peckham = cookies. Mike tramps get your self a flip flop whilst you re-jig that bike fella, it'll help ENORMOUSLY.
edit: also dt, aidan, and hops made the effort to peckham from brockley almost every wednesday last winter. Dave brought 6 mallets everytime and the three of them are who most people should be thanking for supplying mallets and balls when no one else had any and skill that upped everyones game when no one else had any. Brockley to peckham isn't exactly 'just round the corner' but these guys should now have to go further north or central, because of other lazier people? Sorry but i think thats BS.
