If any one remembers my old Raleigh forks that had a rake of about 110mm, well riding home slightly drunk I came to a closed road and thought I'll go round the barricade, but I was going about 2mph as I turned, the rake on the forks made the bars shoot to a 90 degree angle which made me track stand perfectly for what seemed like forever, being amused by this and having a chuckle all of a sudden the front of the bike rotated away from me resembling half a backwards circle and half a B-Boy style windmill ...at least I got a few beeps from the passing cars ;)

usually enjoy riding on a few pints - did come a cropper a couple months back riding home from soho though. was too pissed to walk properly, tried to cycle and ended up hitting a kerb at full speed and flying through the air superman style headfirst into a lampost. after coming round, walked all way home using my (fortunately undamaged) steed for support. has taken the full two months for my skull to stop hurting... never again

Riding pissed ive had a few close ones and been arrested once but mostly a very entertaining venture, riding shroomed, hands off (freewheel) down a hill over a speed ramp i think i found Nirvana...

as far as im concerned, riding home rat arsed is less detrimental to my well being than trying to ride home hungover, this holds true for every form of transport.

Im genuinely a little bit shocked by this thread.
Whilst I have on occasion ridden my bike pissed up and regularily ride it after a few drinks I only do it because you can get away with it.
I also ride a motorcycle round town.
Imagine If i came on here and talked about how pissed I got before riding that? Outrage!
Yes im aware it is more powerfull but ridden round town it doenst reach speeds much more than a bicycle.
Weaving all over the road pissed up on a bicycle as some of you mention is seriously dangerous.

I don't think anyone here is actually advocating doing it, it's more a case of it being something that most of us - and even you - have occasionally done.
As the penalty for getting caught out doing it is usually painful, it's not habit-forming. As we know, good sense often evaporates with alcohol... -

I often rite drunk. I find the smooth flow of words to be really enjoyable experience, but if you go too slow it's really difficult. later on its not always apparent what I was trying to communicate.
