If you have a flip-flop hub then you can stick another sprocket and flip the wheel over or change sprockets when you get there. You should aim for mid 80s GI. I assume your charge has drops and you can easily remove the front brake? In that case you should be fine
ah great stuff, yep it's got drops and i can remove the front brake no problem
thanks mike

Hey! You never know, I could be on my DH bike.

My bike's perfect for this event. Its got bullhorns. And a front brake. And spin-to-win gearing. And creaking BB. But apart from that its ok.
I'm going to see if I'm too lazy to do the induction and sort out a hire bike for the day. Otherwise I'll come down and get photos of the rain / carnarge

This is probably a really stupid question and i know it says High noon in the title so please feel free to abuse me but it does start at 12 right?
Just to be clear

• #114
cant do the 21...but are you planning to redo it?
-
• #115
Ooh - I've never ridden on a track, but was planning to do the induction that weekend anyway. And you should get some comedy falls if I come along...
-
• #116
that's ok if you do all your falling OFF the track!
crashes scare me :(

OK on this forum we have faster and slower riders.
Everyone who has ever been on an FGSS day out/event kinda knows where most people fit in the scheme of things, so we could easily get a healthy amateur A and B cats going. What do we do with the serious trained athletes amongst us who ride regularly in organised "proper" races, can they be put in an A++ group or in the interests of sportsmanship forgo their prizes for a round of beer and general awe from the rest of us?
After-all, the most training some of us get is racing nodders.

great idea - better than saturday morning which has been flooded by post-olympic hype (which is not a bad thing in general as more people cycling...just reduces the quality of the experience for the individual. very selfish i know.).

it was just as busy last year on sunny days
although I reckon there's less training and more inducting this year, busier early on for sessions 1 and 2
