yes, yes, how brave and clever that you've managed to do the one thing that the human race does instinctively (apart from dying).
"Well done" when you win Olympic gold or climb K2, yes.

I didn't know what to make of all the 'well dones' when we announced it to family people, especially as most seemed to be directed at me. It was a bit like 'good shot', but it's not that difficult if you know which weeks to go for it.
I do think a 'well done' is in order for the ordeal of childbirth though, including the father to a lesser extent for having to keep it together whilst witnessing all the pain. You get a stark insight into the lottery aspect of it all - doesn't matter which part of the world you live in, the spectre of death looms large in the prelude to new life. It is fucking scary stuff.
