holy fuck, Bolt just ran 9.69, smashed the world record and jogged across the line in the Olympic final! that is truly astonishing! I've never seen anything like that...
WOW!!! absolutely unbelievable....

In the words of David Coleman, "Quite remarkable!".

that was just incredible!!
but why did he slow? he should have gone 110% and just obliterated the WR even further... not that he didn't do well though!
-

asafa powell must be pretty upset. poor guy just doesn't seem to be able to run through the rounds at major championships and get anywhere near his best.
i'm still shaking... that will be the single best performance of the games.

He'll get bonuses from sponsors at commercial meetings for breaking the world record. The Olympics is about winning, not times.

he'll still get a big bonus for breaking the world record at the olympics. it doesn't matter which meet he breaks it at. i think he was just not concerned about the time. he's a laid-back jamaican and i reckon he was just genuinely celebrating the win and was a bit surprised to be that far up!

Why completely smash the world record when you're the only one around who can beat it, and then beat it again, and beat it again...? And rake in the £$£$ in the process, of course.

Houvenaghel or Romero?
-
• #513
do you honestly think he had time to mull over the possibilities of not breaking the record by too much, let alone the judgment to guess how many 100ths of a second he was under it?
-

Houvenaghel or Romero?
Romero 4 me
when it comes down to the wire, I reckon she got game
-

true dat
-
• #516
Romero knows what it's like to come second in an Olympic final. Houvenaghel is probably pleased to be there. Ergo, I think Romero will dig deeper to win.

just a quick question.
How much power was Jamie Staff putting in, to be clipped in tight, and then strapped in?? -
• #520
Unfortunately, unless you're an Olympian, in the public's eye, all cyclists are cunts.
True dat.But you bit so hard this PM!
What a great evening in the Velodrome! Individual pursuit final was on @ half time @ the Emirates. Even some of those louts knew who Wiggo was.
Bright times. Bring on tomorrow!

just a quick question.
How much power was Jamie Staff putting in, to be clipped in tight, and then strapped in??more than anyone else in the world at the moment.
GBC have done a great job in choosing the right people for the right jobs, BMX'ers have awesome power out of the gate, even Hoy can't go 1 lap from a start as quick as Jamie.
Just look at Shanaze leading out VP last year at manchester.. -
