Good work Mdizzle, this thread has been suspiciously free from Hippo posts this AM. And I'm never going to believe he's actually working :p
I didn't get home until 4.30am last night/this morning.
I was a bit fucked and slept in so didn't get to work until 11am.
Then we have a release to do so I've only now just hit the forum. -

kelly sotherton > victoria pendleton.
the most impressive thing i saw today was on the athletics track. Usain Bolt ran 9.92s, looking around and easing up with 40m to go! that is seriously insane. i can't believe anyone can make running 9.92 look that easy...
and he reckons he's really a 200m runner.

he's a tall (6' 5") long-legged bastard with absolutely flawless technique.
he ran sub-20 seconds for 200m as an 18 year old...
in other words, he's a complete and utter freak.and he has run 9.72 so i guess 9.92 is a jog for the guy.

They said the same about Indurain...

comment on what? believe it or not, we Aussies can accept that we won't win everything!
why are you all so obsessed with beating Australia? there are several other countries competing as well, i've heard...
your cyclists are doing really well. why not just enjoy their success?
I know this is just forum banter but seriously do any of you not cheer for the Aussies when the Brits aren't competing or stand no chance? If the brits win something I'm cheering for the Aussies to come in 2nd. I was gutted you didn't get the Bronze in the sprint (so amazingly close).
Just me then?

My lady's an Aussie... The Aussies can get fucked AFAIC... No offence...

the number of times i've heard BBC commentators gleefully saying "This is great to see the Aussies get beaten" is pretty pathetic. it's particularly bad in the swimming. fair enough if you're cheering for an underdog like Coventry from Zimbabwe or similar (although she is an excellent swimmer with a suspiciously american accent), but it's pretty lame when you're cheering for an American or Chinese purely because you want the Aussie to lose...
it's poor sportsmanship to cheer for someone to lose on the basis of their nationality (especially if you don't have someone in the event).
Can you get me the number of the 20 stone Mexican Judoka?? She's right up my street..
