Aim for the subtle vendetta.
Get pally with his colleagues and then start dropping those entertaining anecdotes about him that make him look like a loser. Get women from the far side of town to turn up in his local and throw drinks over him. Report his house because you walked past and saw some stoned kids walking out in a cloud of pot smoke. Complain because you think you saw him cuff a scally whilst on official duty. Reverse track his e-mail and sign him up to a furry mailing list. Complain about him inconsiderately parking his squad car.
One big revenge hit won't do the trick, he'll have forgotten about it in a month. A campaign of low level that increases in the private life details and weirdness will stick with him for a while, particularly if it keeps getting back to his job. Revenge isn't just served cold, it's best served as a banquet in several lovingly crafted courses. Plus it gives you something to do of and evening.
