I might be inclined to question the quality of said item, and wouldn't feel as comfortable buying from someone just turning up - when a forumenger sells something, we've got some element of a guarantee on quality - or at least honesty, and that counts for a lot.
The issue for me is that if they're trying to offload track/fixed stuff in general, then they'd be into the fixed 'scene' - so why don't they get to know the site before selling and stick around afterwards?
