Tynan, I have been serious and jokey about this, but to be truthful, I feel that it is such a simple premise, that over-egging this pudding of explanations benefits no-one.
It only personal, but some others agree, that.....this place is sort of like a house that is open to relatives. Nobody has to like each other, but we abide by each other, and try a little bit to respect each other. So in this open-door-policy house, we have a person walk in off the street, walks straight into our loo, and does a Saddam in there (the mother of all shits)....then walks out.
Its ok, it just appears that the open-door-policy can just be ever so rarely abused. Yes, come in and shit at our expense. The door is always open, but there are ways of doing things.
Maybe because I'm older than some, I might see things differently. Maybe because I grew up in other countries. I don't know the answer.
As for you photographic anology (more appealing to me), yes, I'd use the opportunity to sell stuff. But I would check to see if its ok. Its just the way I would do it. The person who was trying to sell on ebay and here - good luck to them. But I contest that this place is not just html being randomly fired across the multiverses, its a place, and people are here.
We don't have to honour allcomers. I wasn't given a great greeting, but thats how it is. He wants a free ride. Let him have it.
