Haven't had a puncture with Armidillos so far since using them (10-11 months)

kevlar or foam infused tyres do well, and are essential in London.
Lots do em, more expensive, heavier, but it prevents those dreaded punctures.
my back one has a sizeable tear but its all good because it has the extra puncture protection.this hole looks innocuous but it actually would have caused a puncture had it not the foamy bits inside the tyre.
Thats not really a tear, my tires have those everywhere.. that's quite normal for a tire that has been used for more than a few weeks :) imho.
This summer i have been eating through two Rubino's and are now running a TriComp on the rear, always with kevlar tire liners.. and a nice light ca. 200g racing tire on my front, lots of cuts in the rears.. only had one puncture when my front Open Pro cut up on a broken bottle last weekend.. now I'm running a Schwalbe Ultremo on the front, feels nice but it seems to pick up way more shit than the Open Pro did.

hippy recommends continentals as well ;)
Funny you should mention this - just picked up a Continental 4 Seasons to try; 2 punctures before I even got the wheel out of the kitchen; skinned knuckles; out of expletives for at least a week;....
Now in the bin.

Me got Conti Gattor's and I've had only one puncture in over 12 months. Last night in fact. And this was tdue to the rim tape had worn down and the caused by the rim. Gattor's rock.

Right, I wasn't going to get involved in this, cause I like not having punctures, but...
I spunk nearly 30 quid on a road morph 3 months ago after blowing up 3 mini pumps in quick succession. Averaging 1 puncture a week before, not had a single one in 3 months, same tyres, same routes, just wanna give my new pump a go.
Karmic protection, the only way forward.

I blew three tubes without even getting the wheel on the bike!
First tore whilst levering it on - in a damn hurry and put a little too much air in the tube, new ribs loose with the trye lever.
Second had a small hole in already, fixed it and got it to 90psi and it exploded
Third i blew up on its own (maybe there was a fault in the tyre/rim?) got to 80psi and exploded adding several years to my cat who was sneaking in to the room to rub me up for more food
(both the exploding tubes were halfords (freebies) and been in the cuboard for 9 months. i have had them for over a year and they haven't degraded?! still they are going back)

its right thru to the kevlar/foam bit, it's actually and inch deep hole, kinda skewed into the tyrewall.
Normal tyres would have failed, that was my point.

park glueless patches work great. There very thin & small so apply to thin road tubes extremely well.
