Right, still fighting hand to hand with the legal / property dept at Southwark, and today they put a **massive **spanner in the works.

I'm trying to remain optimistic that we'll still have the site, but I'm also going to go and see Mango Landing in Brixton as a back up option.

Ladies and gentlemen, the barbecue is in clapham and in my garden. Paint job happened, will give it another before the party.

BTW, snowy_again and CorneliusBlackfoot, has the date been resolved, and the lease for the venue? If still problematic, should anybody else be searching for another venue? I think a pub was suggested, but its not the same for an open bbq.....

It was planned for the Sunday (10-th). I'm still having lease issues with Southwark, which would mean that we'd be squatting for the day. Not in itself a problem, but should (and this is a very big theoretical 'should') anything go wrong on the day, it could affect the whole of the lease. Something which would make me very unpopular at work. Hopefully I can bang some heads next week and get them to resolve it more quickly.

I've had a chat with the people at Mango Landing (which has lots of outside space) in Brixton about potentially taking over that for a sunday, but still need to speak to the manager about it. If you can think of an alternative space, then let me know!

spotted this on the weekend at a military show, oil barrel converted into a washing machine complete with drive chain.. something to think about for future builds for a spitroast!

Hey's an idea, what about a "sponsored" garden bbq? We find someone with a BIG garden, and all cough up a few quid each for the use of it. That would cover the clean up, inconvenience. loo rolls, and so on. Possibility, as a last resort?
