Funny that just got me thinking, On the radio last night it was saying we were in a knife epidemic because the 20th knife death was reported and the government were all hands on deck drafting legislation, I know its a far off comparison and one is violent the other is not but looking at the figures Bill put out there 17 people were killed by HGV/LGV last yer and the government don't really see that as a problem. Which can be significantly improved with not so much money ..as opposed to knife crime which is a deep rooted problem ...I suppose what ever gets you the vote.

it's hard to whip up a moral panic about lorries, but kids with knives are an easy target for tabloid outrage and politically expedient "something must be done" crackdowns.
