interesting thread, this whole nasty episode could so easily have been avoided if the gent in question had not chosen to eat his lunch at the counter, not only is this a health and safety nightmare, but he may have found more comfort and be able to relax more in a dedicated food-eating area such as a staff room or cafe where said "chinese" was purchased, this wouuld also have removed the "is he. isn't he working?" confusion....and everyone concerned would have felt a lot better and there would have been no embarassment.
