  • Having been to a lot of cobbled classics, i.e. Het Volk, Flanders, Paris-Roubiax, I think you'll find that most riders tend to ride traditional wheels with box section rims 3x laced. It's rare to see factory wheels and very rare to see carbon rims.

    I think Slipstream used carbon rims in this year's Paris-Roubaix and had lots of problems. Somehow I doubt they'll do the same next year.

  • ^Hincapie manged to break his fancy carbon wheel on the cobbles even though the almost every media report referred only to "technical problems". Not wanting to lose any Hed ad revenue I'm guessing.

    Also interesting that Campagnolo are dropping their two cheapest lines Xenon and Mirage totally.

  • Back to the levers. As i understood it Campagnolo have increased the height of the lever (like shimano) to aid a more aero position.

    TBH, I get confused with the 18 gears I have on my road bike and only really use about 6 of them anyway.
