  • he has HTFU'd, he's going west :)

  • sigh okay...it's music to take your dressing gown off in front of the television to.

Music to be completely average to, with overtones of insipidity... in your dressing gown.

  • jeez, Lebowski will be calling you BringThe Pain, BMMF - he's gonna go

  • Oh shit, I'd better watch out for a full-on physical attack of stadium piano chords, automated rhythm sectioning, and po-faced turgid lyricism :O

  • I can't imagine ever listening to Coldplay willingly enough to be doing anything in my dressing gown to it actually. Yes, lovers in Japan might find some meaning in the soothing English voices, and someone at work wanted to have a Coldplay song played in the event of his death and all his friends agreed, but you know, even if all the cemeteries in London are eventually filled with Coldplay fans, right now I ain't 42 and even if I was I don't think I'd be into them. It's like..their stuff just seems a bit MOR, a bit grey - I prefer to live life in technicolor. When I think of how many people buy their records I get lost!

  • I can't imagine ever listening to Coldplay.

Right now I'm into Level 42.

    You're both wrong.

  • There appears to be some confusion here, RADIOHEAD are playing in Viccy Park tonight and tomorrow.
COLDPLAY are off being gash somewhere else.

  • gong!

    they booth suck, lets either

    A. avoid the festie totally as it will but a bunch of pricks who want to jump on a trend

    OR

    B. Live it up skid comps, foot down, pisumo, beer pick ups, wheel race, slowhanded race, ect ect ect

    i vote B.

  • i say... dark time chris... come to wests...

  • shin your avoidance of Easts better not be strategic cos of this popmusic circus going on.

Chris has a point - but I think A is my option. I'm beginning to think it would be a frickin nightmare tomorrow night and worlds will meet in a way few of us are prepared for. I'm not down with larking around in the midst of 40,000 MOR fans.

Me and Hillbilly found a looovely place by the river - what say we bring our trump card out HB? We could make it the first of the summer tour pub nights..?

It's a Sam Smiths though.... for me that says "great value beers" but I know someone was moaning about the stout...

  • I don't think I'll be down if all that is going on.

  • so Build maybe you are a +1 for going to a different joint?

  • No can do if it's not in walking distance.

  • i can recommend the florist on globe road in bethnal green

  • Palm Tree - Mile End? It's by the canal...plastic cups outside though..

    now you're talking. awesome pub.

though most likely won't be going as will be at a football pub watching semi-final.

  • I cant do this week... but thinking about doing westies... anyone up for the stroll?

    thinking along the same lines...
where u depart from Mr. ?

  • now you're talking. awesome pub.

pub of the year 2007 !
(or so they say...) but judging on some recent nights, i would agree.

  • That Sam Smith's stout is well overpriced. What's the deal with charging less than £2 for bitter, but over £3 for stout? Wankers.

  • In the park with offie beers, say I...

  • only just seen its Tuesday... bit premature.

I'm not normally a patient man, but in the interests of forum harmony I will try to school those ignorant less fortunate members of our wonderful community.

Coldplay are naff, no doubt. Their music is mournful, whiney and Chris Martin's a twat. But Radiohead are on a different level. Comparing the two is like trying to compare Peter Andre and George Clinton.

Upon reflection, perhaps this thread is not the place for this lesson in music appreciation. Perhaps we should continue this discussion in a new thread. Or in a steel cage. You choose the weapon.

  • i have never been able to get my head round radiohead.

    always preferred pavement myself.

    anybody else like pavement ?
