I've not ridden the T1, but if I was buying a new track bike at that price I'd expect to have Campagnolo or Sugino75 cranks & a good BB... and probably better wheels.
IMHO 90% of the copy-writing and tech-nonsense from Trek/Giant/HugecyclebrandX is a nice way of saying "we've found a way to reduce manufacturing costs further".
