A lot of Italian House was heavily influenced by guys such as Moroder and Soccio and the like. To be honest a lot of their stuff sounds more innovative and fresh than a lot of early House of the late 80's/early 90's
I was also listening to some late 80's Larry Heard stuff before, another musical genius. Again, so fresh sounding and tight as fuck production
