see? cheated. That's lame. That's accusing someone of some sense of purpose that most likely didn't exist. Either the stopwatch didn't kick in straight away (which has happened before - see Somebody) or, yes, Luke might have pulled something elaborate on his first go that was a slightly wrong approach to the course. Or he deliberately got round the corner, stopped, got his newspaper out, gave it thirty seconds and caned it back round.
All ways round, if he didn't do anything wrong in his view then it would have felt pretty lame to give 100 per cent, get a time that was fast, then get it discounted and kind of taken the piss out of for cheating.
It's only a bit of fun, after all. But I for one would like to see what your man rolls in at next week - cos I reckon he's going to be fast.
