I can't truly offer advert free surfing: the entire Classifieds section is full of adverts, as is most of the Ride and Races section. All I can say is that if you register, I can programmatically ensure that the Google AdSense adverts are not visible.
You'll have to specifically define a difference between what is acceptable and what isn't to be able to start your argument. Why is it OK for Rollapaluza to do such much promotion? Why is it OK for the Classifieds section to exist? What makes it not OK to put your own eBay stuff up continuously? At what point is something spam and not promotion? What differentiates good will promotion and enthusiasm from unwanted advertising?
I'm honestly interested in knowing the basis of your strong conviction. I would love to know how you define acceptable from unacceptable.
