  • I don't go for this 'good on him for making a buck' shit. If he was just tarting bikes up and selling them, then fair enough, but he's cynically exploiting people's interest in single speed/fixed bikes and abusing it. Nothing wrong with providing a quality product, but come on. Those kind of prices would get you a REALLY nice bike from the Fixed Gear London guys.

  • Look at his feedback to check out the components he has brought for his bikes from other ebayers. I like the "Sponge comfort handlebar grips for bike/wheelchair." They cost him £2.49 (and £1.75 P&P of course) - you can see them on the bikes! QUALITY components as you can see.

  • my view : the price of an item is determined by the amount people are willing to pay for it. it's a free market, so he can charge whatever he wants. if people are willing to pay those prices, then he shouldn't be held liable for their foolishness.

i also dont buy the 'exploiting people' argument - there are plenty of better quality ss bikes on the market for cheaper. all you need to do is shop around.

  • we are all just jealous we didn't do it first in reality

a Charge Plug, Specialised Langster (new york edition even), Bianchi Pista, Lemond Fillmore, Kona Paddy Wagon etc. those are much better alternated and what more - they come with warranty, come from chain bike shop (like Evans) that likely to offer a 1 year free tune-up or summat package

why the FUCK would I pay FIVE HUNDRED pound of my well-earned cash for a England football team mountain bike, I mean, MOUNTAIN bike, when I can use the money to paid for a proper track bike, no scratch that, a proper track frame and plenty of money left over to hand it in to a reputable bike shop that can built your dream bike for you.

Fixed Gear London can able to build you a good bike for £400, for £550, you'd get a really unique proper track bike from them.

  • oooh.. can I be a bit controversial? and say these Drummond bikes really are unique in comparison to the generic double-deepV'd cropped riser'd fixed bikes that are currently clogging the highways and byways of London? ;)

do you really want to ride an England football themed fixed gear mountain bike in London instead of the Unipack shite?

despite the unipack bike that are notoriously rubbish and handle also, rubbishly, I'd still prefer to ride those than a england football team fixie.

  • I wasn't talkin about unipack, I was talking in general about the genericism that's rife now - loads and loads of bikes of a certain aesthetic that makes it a bit boring. But yeah I was only taking the piss - it was really about the use of the word "unique". Drummond's certainly are just that, and in a unique price structure. I'm not sure you do necessarily get a "unique" bike made up for 6 or 700 quid because everyone seems to be going for a very similar look.

Myself included, probably. When it's finished.

  • there's no argument here, the bikes are a crock of shit, the page is fucking hilarious, and anyone who buys one deserves to lose any last shred of dignity they may have had.

nb: this is not what BLB do, as someone mentioned, that's a lazy comment. last time i looked they most definitely had a shitload of the real bike porn in there, hetchins, cinelli, bianchi, bob jackson. i do not see jan's custom polish football bike.

  • they have a hetchins at BLB?

  • Anybody who buys this shit get what they deserve at the end of the day. If I could flog someone the used biro sitting on my desk for a tenner I would snap their hand off and I wouldn't expect anyone to give me grief for it

  • ...so far his success rate at shifting his stuff is 0 - may it stay that way!

  • He is a Capitalistic opportunist..as I buy rubbish and I sell antiques.....remember the warning......'caveat emptor'......or in other words avoid like the plague!

  • I rode past drummond ave last night i should have taken a photo with my bike next to the sign
would have increased the value 10 fold

  • His bikes certainly *look(?) *the part. The stubbornness over the price is mind-blowing arrogance. Or just ignorance?

He sold two cheap ones after listing them over and over.

he lowered the price after I post a topic on how he's not selling anything, he took the general advice of the lfgss group and lowered some of the bike to less than £300, it work.

his intention is honest, despite the high mark-up.

  • He has removed all his listings it seems.

  • I was in the Lock 7 cafe on Broadway Market earlier today.

Hanging from the wall was Pug conversion - fixed cog on a non-track Maillard hub, couldn't tell if there was a Surly Fixxer on it though. Basic no-name parts for everything else. £375. Had a drummondbikes.com decal on the top tube.

Didn't want to offend by asking probing questions because I quite like the place, otherwise. Raised an eyebrow though.

  • His listings are back, just seen a Carlton conversion listed for £599!

  • I'm gonna have to sell my polo bike!

  • His listings are back, just seen a Carlton conversion listed for £599!

and here's me thinking for a moment there he lowered his price to a more acceptable pricing.

    ah well.

  • Simple answer for anyone who really takes exception to this. High fees to lists bikes that cost that much, even higher if they sell. Ebay no longer gives neg feedback to buyers. So if you have a real problem with the dude, buy the lot, pay for none, and hope he gets stung for all the fees.

  • be carefull is taken over the forum, he has everything you need, just give him a call

  • The man has registered and reported every damned post in this thread.

Graham, since I know you're reading this: I care about spam, and trolls. None of the people who have posted on this thread are either in my opinion, and all are entitled to their opinion. Report all you like, all you'll do is piss me off and then you won't even be able to report stuff.

And one more thing, your bikes really are shit. You charge way too much for what you are selling, and those who buy from you probably don't realise what they're getting. I feel for them, not for you.
