Jim,
sorry to hear you've taken a knock, wishing you a speedy recovery matey. For some reason, my head can only imagine you lying in the road in the nurses outfit you wore to hallowe'en a couple of years ago. Terrifying.

are you sure the disc is damaged to that extent???
because if it was, you were very very lucky to not be in a wheelchair. once a disc is fucked, thats it, you will have back problems for ever. PLEASE, get this checked out ASAP and DO NOT ride bike!!

Well the doctor told me I'm more likly to have back trouble when I'm older. But she said I'd be OK for now, so long as I take it easy. I have an appointment to see the fracture clinic on Thursday. Guess I'll find out morre then and I can't ride my bike because my wheelies are'nt up to scratch.

Hey everyone. just to let people know what happend to me last night(its easier than lots of PM's). I'm OK, well apart from the spuashed disc in my baack and a few scrapes and a broken set of carbon forks.
What happened? I had a woman pull across from the other side of the road, to get into her driveway as I was doing about 22mph(I had a speedo on). I managed to grab a fist full of brake as I hit the side of her but it was just to late. I ended up going straight up and then straight down onto the road beind her lovely people carrier. I then spent half anhour laying in the road and had many people stop to help( there are a lot of docters walking around Wandsworth) and redirect traffic around me.
After a quick trip to St Georges and a few X-rays the only thing wrong with me is my 4th disc in my lower back that is half the size it should be. The docter said that it will be OK. I just need to rest for a few days.
Thanks to everyone who have already sent me messages to get well and I'd like to thank the ladies in the ambulance and all the people who stopped to help me.
I should be back on the bike soon, I have a spare set of forks I can wack on for now. So I'll see you all soon.
Cheers Hillbilly.
