Buy a wethepeople. They are the best value for money and ride really nice, i got a pheonix pro - which uses an actual aftermarket frame and reasonable bits. I 'just' put new S&M bars, stem and forks, pedals, saddle, grips, brake, lever, chain tensioners, rear rim because I'm an idiot. But if you haven't had a bmx ina while/never the stock one would last you a long time. www.wethepeople.de they got reviews on it too. Best complete bike + lightest complete bike available supposedly. It is light.

And no, I shouldn't have put blue shadow pedals or blue odyssey brakes on it. Big mistake....

I've had that frame for about 8-9years. It's fucked but I've still never managed to snap it.
Thats cause its got dinnerplates as dropouts :-)

Yeah, I really like wtp although I think if I were to get one the decals would be coming straight off. It's like an angsty teenager with a couple of photoshop has gone wild with dirty brushes.
Phoenix pro is out of my price range but i'm very tempted with the others...

yea you gotta get them stickers off. My Pheonix came with a chain guard too! SICK! had to remove that before the stickers and the front brake + then half the bike.

I'd love to get into BMX. I sold my BMX ProBike in November for a tenner. It was a heavy bastard that bike. Seeing the local yootes out on theirs in the town centre (small seaside town in the northeast) makes me jealous.

Emilie you didn't! Function over form for those bad boys..
I don't understand? You're saying they work better than they look, I'd say that's a good thing.

Its a shame you don't want a racing BMX. I've got a Redline John Purse 24" Cruiser that I need to sell. No pictures online but its like this but in Red with less stickers and way better condition. Also it has a Profile 3pc crank and chainwheel.
I'd like to keep it but I just won't have space for more than 1 bike when I move house in Aug/Sept and commutting on this would be a pain.

Not sure, I will get you a photo, had it about 3 years, so maybe an 05 or 06?
Its gray with no colour forks and bars, stripped and then clear coated, its the one with the iron cross chainring. chopped bars, new cranks and pedals, new tires, no pegs, new saddle.
looking for 90 quid ish

I've got a Federal with almost all Primo parts languishing in the corner of my flat, throwing me accusatory looks. Not the lightest bike in the world, but it's strong as hell...

Which you'll be using again from next month onwards. I'll see to that.

This one is nicer ;)
http://www.bmxultra.com/news/2007/se/SE-2007-PK-Ripper-Looptail.jpgI had the original Looptail (long time ago) and these will take a battering. I'd always ride Alu over a chromo frame, they just feel so much sharper.
The new 2008 Ripper team has much better stickers but this one is £120 less and abasically identical.

This thread brings back some memories...
I have a 2001 Eastern Tarzan in my shed, which has been sat there since moving away from Bristol, where I was riding at Skate and Ride one hell of a lot. Was lucky enough to ride with Simon Tabron on quite a regular basis.
The bike's for sale if anyone's interested - Primo cranks, Gussett wheels, Primo tyres, Demolition bars and pegs. If there are no takers I may well have to drag it out, pump up the tyres and see what I can still do. It's ironic really - I always used to read the letters in Ride and Dig from 20-somethings saying how they were getting back into the sport having taken off 5 years. Being the youth I was then I always swore blind I wouldn't be one of those people...

mooks:
Skate and ride! yeah. I hung up on the spine ramp there at my mates 15 th birthday party (my birthday part was going to be a trip to skate and ride the next week). Fully face planted collapsed bled alot and had an excellent encounter with some breasts. What a skate park! Fucking rad man rad.
I also did the same thing with reading letters e.t.c.We need to sort out a londonfgss BMX session for people who have not ridden in ages but would love too but now ride like retards but don't care.
I went out this week end for an hour to Woolwich skate park, very busy. I am so shit it is embarrassing but it was such good fun.
Anyone fancy a trip down my way wednesday night?

You bastard. I'm shopping for bits at the moment but can't afford the wheels until next month.

You can still pop down if you fancy and have a play on the ramps and borrow my bike.

Whilst at Bristol uni some 12 years ago i spent many a day down there with the Bristol Cider Riders, and also at the Bath outdoor ramp. Happy days
Yeah, I'm after something for street, not race. the pk ripper looks awesome though :)
