Waterloo Bridge? That's right next to my work...
Are you scruffy and covered in bike grease? As a matter of fact yes I am.

roxy you should know me better than that, besides that, was not that well written
, or else i would have gotten at least a bit of a stiffy, but nada, it made me lough, a lot. -

Stef, you're link didn't work.
Yes, I thought I knew you better, but you've made some kinda rude comments here that have disappointed me. We can still be friends but sometimes friends realize that they screwed up and they say something like "Shucks, I'm sorry, I was out of line there. I mean, heck! If I met some ridiculously hot girl and everything was perfect, golly I might just shag her right there and then too! It doesn't mean I'm an STD having, fishy-smelling slapper"As for your hard-on, in your defense I will say that the piece was written by a woman for women and that there are a lot of hard nipples around. And secondly, perhaps you should change saddles or adjust your riding position, but I'm proud of you for admitting your having problems.

This thread is getting deeper than i will be in Chug it under Waterloo Bridge in 20 mins (pump fucked so lets just pretend i have a puncture?)
Roxy there is always space for the rough and smooth; 6 figures buys a nice ride and a chance to ride anywhere in the world, closer to the edge makes you feel alive.
What gets me is the author is probably neither but it's his imagination and prose that have got all tense... in a few ways :)

Definitely, I enjoy both.

yeah sure 50 years ago it used to be ok to take the piss out of black people and homosexuals...''what its only a joke mate''...bullshit.
@ stef grow up you misogynistic loser and examine your attitudes to woman
This is the reason I stopped bothering with this forum all the just under the surface anti female 'jokes'.
This is the truly funny part. I actually thought Stef was a girl (until I saw a pic of him on the faces and bikes thread) and was taking the piss out of hapless men's, slightly comical, vaguely pathetic, attempts to get their end away.
As for your 'black people and homosexuals' comment that just smacks of victim mentality. To myself and those who aren't weighed down by PC bullshit it's still funny to take the piss out of women/men/whites/blacks/gays/straights/ferrets it's all about intent and context. To quote one of my favourite queens of literature:
"A gentleman is someone who would never unintentionally insult another"
Oscar Wilde
If you truly stopped bothering with an entire forum because of what you say, then feminism can't be a cause you care that much about...

Hear Hear! That's exactly what I'm saying! Just don't be upset when it comes back at you. No one is saying no Un-PC stuff, but rather take some responsibility for what you say and if you're called out on something highly inappropriate be a gentleperson and step up.
I think Stef could have let the hotness of the piece alone...Or could have not used the terms "slapper", "fish-smelling" or concluded that said active sex life having fictional character must have STD's. Pretty much everything else up to that is a go from me. -

Yes it's not as active as when i was 16, but maybe it's better that way, so that women (not woman Chandra) to me are no longer two tits on legs that never shut the hell up.
And about the story i could have got a little hot, it all went wrong when she mentioned his dirty fingers in her punani, and dogging between two skips and not caring about the bad smell, but maybe it's just me maybe it just doesn't float my boat, i'm more the airplane seat/sea kinda guy. In urban areas, a bench is ideal specially if the girl's wearing a skirt. but maybe the writer has no experience of the sort... -

p.s. Oscar Wilde was homosexual, and probably got bullied a lot about it. Hence him have a little intellectual cry about it
-

ok in my defense in the reality/fiction, a girl that fucks strangers, on the road that carries condoms around, that doesn't mind dirty fingers in her special place is bound to have something goin on down there, you gotta give me that Roxy

In urban areas, a bench is ideal specially if the girl's wearing a skirt. but maybe the writer has no experience of the sort...The point is that it's fiction. Lots of people like to read and watch porn that they wouldn't actually want to do. The idea is hot, let us enjoy that. But if you tried to put your greasy dirty fingers near my very precious bits, I would ask you to kindly wash them. But that would have ruined the story and it's nice to stay in the flow. It's why you rarely get to see anyone stopping to put on a condom in film.
It's a dirty story, about getting dirty, with a dirty boy. That's hot.
However Stef, you're kinda digging a hole here, when I'm pretty sure you've seen the light. Step up and be a man. I'm not really understanding your dig at Chandra. I'm pretty sure you are wise enough to understand her position.
Come on Stef, you have the power to put this all to bed and make me a little proud to be your friend.
Edit: Health insurance companies in the US penalize men and women for getting STD/HIV tested. Their theory is that they have to get tested because they are being risky. That's kind of your assumption Stef, with the condom. My assumption is that woman isn't going to get caught out with some guy that is too stupid to not carry condoms.
Some women's rights groups suggest that all women carry condoms in case they get attacked, sometimes you can convince a rapist into wearing a condom in order to help themselves get away with the crime while the woman is protecting herself. My point being that I would give props to women who carry condoms, not presume they're slags. -

Anyone up for a similar encounter under Waterloo Bridge? I'll be swinging past that way in about 20 minutes. Steaming hot.
We established this was a straight story, sounds like your recreation has a twist CHUG_IT.

jeez this thread's heated up since last night 'annit, and not in a saucy heated-up way, more in a Kilroy kind of a way. Guys and gals....
I doubt DD Vanderbilt had any idea of the incendiary he/she was unleashing when he/she wrote what ostensibly is something light for the erogenous zones. I'm not being sexist here: I dig that it's probably written specifically for women. I agree that it doesn't seem to push the buttons male soft porn tales do (I haven't read any since I was about 15 so I wouldn't know where it has progressed to in the wake of the internet changing everything in Britain). Interestingly those stories were about women being sluts and I found it all massively arousing, even more so if "the woman" was the narrator; I'm not sure why the girl in this story is being tagged as a slag in the posts, she just seems to be having a super-quickie to me in a situation which is a bit rude.
It's interesting that the writer comes up with a character that will hopefully stand for enough of the cool modern feminist ethos to eschew the female readership it is aimed at thinking, "ruddy hell, this girl's a slapper". If the girl's opening paragraph was about how she worked on a checkout in KwikSave and was just on her way home after the Bingo and ended up having a quick one behind a skip I'm not sure the female readership's responses would be the same. It's all cleverly worked stuff, erotic fiction.
So the reason why I was laughing at it all yesterday was because I didn't think it was written very well at all; I dig this is a subjective response and is based on my own reading tastes and probably generic familiarity. For example, the imagery of "flaccid" tubes, pumping things etc. etc. reminds me of old Viz stories and yep indeed cheap newsagent wankmags; I've always cracked up at single entendres, I genuinely adore them. Then language like "those soily fingers navigate my swell" is, I'm sorry, just hilariously bad and generically classic. So I don't think it's well-written at all myself - if you found it deeply arousing then cool. However, I think that's why most people were creasing at it, not cos boys think girls are stupid or people were thinking you must be just a dumb girl to think it's hot. I also think some girls will have read it and thought it was dumb too.
I'm enjoying this thread loads just because I'm interested in people breaking out of the bike chat, I'm not taking the piss out of anyone or trying to knock anyone and I don't think you'll find any sexist posts from me on the forum, I'm here for bike chat and a bit of banter and I haven't been visible long enough to have slanging matches.
I'm a bit concerned that oily fingers grappling with a condom would render it inneffective against STDs and pregnancy, mind.

PJS- I appreciate your comments and for what you commented on, I think that I can agree. Yes of course it's dumb, in that sense all porn is 'dumb'. It works on our most base instincts.
I always squirm a little [and not in the good way] when people trying to turn me on, be it in film, tv, or bed, use just about any term for our private bits. It takes the perfect timing to be able to moan "I'm gonna take my XXXX and make your XXXXX feel amazing".
Myself, and I believe the other women here aren't offended by someone thinking it's funny. It is funny!! It's awesomely funny that 'fixies' are so tried that they've entered women's porn!!!! That's funny!
But PJS, the thing that took all the bang out of it was the fact that a man felt the need to use terminology that degrades women and brings up the very thing that has kept women's sexuality down forever. Then after that a couple of other guys do some nudge nudging and all of a sudden it's an atmosphere (like 99% of a woman's life) that is questioning what a woman is allowed to feel turned on by and if she does she's a slapper and dirty and diseased. On top of that when the women try to explain those feelings they feel as if they have to then say they are in a bad mood to somehow justify it and not sound like a 'bitch' or worse a 'feminist'.
But really none of this matters, the girls have been chatting about it all day (on our own little forum). I think the reason we reacted so strongly is because it's far from the first time it's been discussed.
But really now, I would think it wise of men to take note here. Lots of women all over the world were really turned on by that article. I guarantee it! And there are women who were really turned off by some of the comments made here. So who do you want to be? A guy that turns women on or a guy that makes them want to steer clear?
Now I'm bored. I'm gonna go tuck myself into bed and read some good porn. Don't worry, I've just washed my hands and I've been working as a secretary for a man all day (even though I have a higher college degree and more experience).Agata, could you tell me your story about meeting under Waterloo Bridge? Can we go back to being excited and funny and light and giggle about actual bike porn?!??!?!?

Cool Roxy - all I can do is speak for myself and where I'm coming from, don't represent noone but meself. I'm not trying to wade into someone else's argument, just contributing to a discussion. I'm totally +1ing a lot of what you're saying.
But I think it's a shame you girls have this extra, undergound, forum (I've heard about it before, late at night under cover of darkness and drink..); it's cool you have one for closer buddies or whatever and, as Trixiechix, bonds must have been formed that many of the guys haven't yet enjoyed; but it's fairly rare these days to read new posts from many of the female members and it seems from this thread that, for some, it's because they don't get along with the male-centric vibe they perceive here.. in a sense surely the only way to work on turning that round is from within and post, rather than comment in a break-off forum? Is it that bad that you've given up? If the answer's yes it's a real pity cos you ain't representin' yourselves!!
I thought this forum was about fixed/ss enthusiasts first and foremost and that may be why people post exactly what they want to, rather than having some gender/self-conscious scenario where suddenly people are thinking about "pulling" and then everyone starts saying whatever will get them in someone's pants, which would be hideous surely..? I'm pretty sure most dick/gay/blowjob/tits etc. jokes are usually said in absolutely the silliest of moods, yes childish but not with an agenda. Maybe some of the gay guys on the forum (there must be some) find some comments offensive, and some people might just find stuff offensive cos they're not into it. But it's not just about boys versus girls is it...? Everyone's responsible for their posts and everyone else can think they're a dick/twat off the back of them if they so wish, you don't have to be passive about it, even passive-aggressive.
I've only met four or five forum girls, at drinks (I haven't been around too long, I lurked online for ages) - and Clefty seems to be one of the few who post regularly apart from yourself Roxy (I read your accident checklist some time ago and it helped me no end the other week when I wrapped it on Clerkenwell Rd..) The fact that pseudonyms afford some degree of anonymity means gender is less obvious - but gender should also therefore be less important than the poster's content and views; even so, it's really lame if the female take on shit isn't getting posted up because females believe they'll be seen as "moaning girls" if they voice any objections they have.
Some things aren't really suited to a bike forum but last night I think I was trying to ease the heat with a bit of (possibly bewilderingly inarticulate) self-deprecation when you said something about there being no men left who were bold and graceful. Though I wouldn't have quantified it in those terms I got what you were saying and I felt, while I understood you were pissed off about the generalisations being made about women, your comment generalised about men in the same way... I think there might be some on here who can have a laugh at a magazine story about a "fixed gear gal" for its intrinsic silliness and how the "fixed gear" argot has become appropriated to lend a contemporary authenticity to a very tired old genre - who at the same time are quite able to dig that fucking up against a dumpster covered in bike innards could be hot so long as it wasn't a prerequisite - and are still pretty much only on here to geek off about bikes and are a bit surprised to find it all getting a bit gender-specific..
It's late, I'm not working today, I'm only writing all this cos it has interested me quite a lot and you took the time to write quite a bit yourself Roxy. Sorry if I'm coming across as a tremendous bore and far too opinionated for my brief time on the forum.. it's this or late night radio phone-ins...:)

I hear what you're saying Roxy and I agree 100%. I think powerful independent women are dead sexy - that's why I'm gonna get married to one!
-
• #74
All for strong women!
And to completely lower the tone (lighten the thread...) Roxy mention squirming at the mention of any term in reference to her private bits, having a thought a while over my morning hang over cure i can't think of a single one either!

that's so funny I'm crying.
See boys, the things that happen when you let girls fix punctures? ooh-er!Umm, hot sweaty alley cats by the Elephant and Castle roundabout?
yeah, um, exactly. I would think that 99% of people here would be striving to be called that.
