Thats harsh Crank, I hope you got his number or took swing back at him, that kind of shit shouldn't be allowed to slide.
It was actually the passenger, and he was without exaggeration the largest man I've had the misfortune to meet - brick, shit, house - so no swings back. I did fantasise about it for a week afterwards though.
I got their number, as did three independent witnesses.. called the roz to report a hit and run + assault. They told me to wait in the street (with rapidly swelling wrist) until they sent a car round. Called them back an hour later.. "Oh sorry, we're not actually coming.. Fridays are very busy doncha know."
Went to the station and filed a report, they went to the registered owners house, he claimed he'd sold the car for cash 6-months previously. They didn't bother to show me a picture or anything to see if he was telling the truth. So car was officially unregistered, untraceable. Haven't heard a peep since.
Unfortunately Ive now misplaced the reg. number, so can't chase it up (I've since met a journo with access to the DVLA records who was willing to run the number for me).
Another day in the life of the lazy, negligent Brighton Police.
