Last night at around 7pm. Hoxton Square. Gentleman riding Slaytanic1's stolen bike!!!

Was there by chance with Slaytanic and 2 other riders.
We stopped him around from blue bar and got into a very emotional dispute.
He was riding it fixed with no clips. Knew absolutely nothing about bikes but knew it 'looked' good.
He bought it from Brick Lane for £130 and expected that back for it!!!
Hard to control the anger but remained as understanding as possible.
Told him that he knew full well the bike would've been a stolen one and he deserved to lose his money on the grounds of buying stolen property.
He said slaytanic would 'get a right result' if he bought it back for £130!
He came very close to having it taken away from him.

Left it to Dave (slaytanic) who was emotional! Couldn't believe it was exactly as he'd left it minus spokecards and clips. We agreed on £50.

The guy even said to me whilst the others had gone to the bank, that he expected someone to stop him on it one day and ask for it back! That was after telling me he didn't think it was nicked!!!

Anyway...it's back. A nice start to an evenings ride. And an extra bike with which we recruited an extra rider ;-)

ah, good stuff.

An even better result would have been a big slap and no £50 for the 'I didn't know it was nicked but I thought someone might tell me it was' -meister.

Wow... what a spot of luck... i feel sorry for the guy who bought it but then again, why do people buy bikes from brick klane when they know full well they've been stolen????

I don't like violence but this bloke was getting a bit cheeky. Dave even showed him photos from his mobile. Sometimes it's difficult for all involved to see the other side but we came to a fair result.
My immediate response was take the bike and tell him to 'go away' but after listening to him I realized it was up to Dave.
It annoys me that people continue to buy stolen bikes from there.

spotted a sort of handsomeish brunette (is that the right word for a bloke's hair?) Mexican looking guy, a cross between a young harrison ford, Chevy Chase and Cheech/Chong cycling along the hyde park bike path heading towards Kensington palace... on an old (converted?) raleigh with a brake... we exchanged furtive glances, I half nodded, then felt like a bit of a twat... is there a word for that awkward post botched glance moment?

some tall dude on a mercian(?) with spiral white/light blue deco on the seat tube and brooks tape/saddle combo, bombing down and past me, southbound from london bridge. i think you said 'snap'? you got off the road, hopped onto the footpath and turned left. i was concentrating on the peds spilling onto the road, poor road surface and the fat fuck that was on a folder that latched onto my rear so fckn close
