  • Thing is though Stussy used to be more when it was made in the USA, now it's cheaper cos it's made in China. The quality and fits aren't as good now though. I still have US made Stussy T's from '88/89

  • I think that pumas are the best for clip and straps,
i usually ride in the puma match but they are mostly all the same shape, nice long slim, toe section to get strapped in.

AF 1s, AF 2s, terminators air trainers, vandals, blazers have all been pretty bad from my experience,
plus i dont like riding in my good shoeees

    not in my experience.

going to have to give this post a minus 1, i'm afraid.

  • I cycle in t-shirts I paid £2 for and free ones.
The most expensive t-shirt I own was probably $40AUD or about £15-20.
    But I ain't settin' no trends. :)

  • so what?

it's just as snobbish to boast about how cheap your clothes are.

  • Horses for courses Hippy! :-)

So I'm saying they're expensive ya knobber. The prices for my shirts is a basis for this comparison. "Snobbish" about how cheap my t-shirts are.. riiiiiight.

One of my favourite shirts was a Stussy though!
Got it on special in Oz and wore it until it fell off me. It's now a rag :)

  • ?! A Stussy T-shirt costs £30, are you unemployed?

I was gonna post a very similar sentiment earlier, but figured you would, so didn't bother... I hate to think how much cash I've spunked on* t-shirts* over the years (closes eyes and shakes head)...
edit: For* t-shirts* read overpriced designer rags...

  • vans work for me!

  • nike dunks are shit to use with clip and strap

they are, but since i wear SB dunk lows most of the time, i adapted (butchered?) some clips to work better with dunks.
i know vans are better but i don't like wearing vans for longer periods.

Utmost slavery! I salute you, sir! ;)
I wouldn't let any of my SBs anywhere near my bike!? Even the crap ones! How do you do it? I'd have the wet wipes out every time I stopped at a set of lights! :)

    +1

  • Vans slip ons for good weather. Nike Wildedge GTX for crap weather. But as I usually carry another pair to change into for work, am considering going down the clipless n SPD route!!

  • dunks are shit in general

Bollocks, your just not doing it right...

I've an old softened-up pair of dunk los (a size too small) that are wicked for riding, they're stiffer than my vans.

  • ?! A Stussy T-shirt costs £30, are you unemployed?

well, yeah. and anyway, i wasn't talking about t-shirts... lots of the other stuff is crazy money, was when i was in there today anyhow. which is a shame (for me anyway) because some of it is really nice too. and i'm not a tight-ass about clothes either.

    so what?

it's just as snobbish to boast about how cheap your clothes are.

    lol

  • that Nike ad is a year old

  • found this one on flickr

    I quite like it.
edit: japanese translation : 'no brakes, no problem'.

  • For my clips and straps its all about these bad boys:

I just wish I had that fluororescent bike to match:

    thtat bike needs these:

  • thtat bike needs these:

    or these

my first serious pair of sneeks
(well the ones without the spikes...)

    ha ha !
    me too

strange no-one's mentioned the Shell Toe ?
surely great to use in a clip and strap

and for kicking it jmj style

  • I'd say superstars would be bad or the same reason dunks are. The first lace hole gets caught on the clip/strap.

I'm still looking for some Wildwoods. Totally flat sole and pretty stiff and leather.

  • Ha, I have a very similar pair of the Asics Noosa Tri shoes. They are mind boggling.

    i hear ya...

and i too seek the Wildwoods as per SkullHead's advice.
damn Foot Patrol's inability to renew their lease...
