hi bobob , excuse my callousness at this sad time but my stan butler special doesn't have forks ? what were you using up front on your steed ? if you don't consider repairing it would you have the forks for sale ? what was the ride like ? nice and stiff ? wobbly as a 753 ? mine is about a week or so away from hitting the road and want to know how it will ride !! i've had it lying around for 5 months now getting bits and pieces together for it. am hoping it will br a nice smooth ride for a bit of polo and a wet weather fixed ride.
once again sorry to hear about your loss.
It was (sob) a lovely stiff ride (is it just me or does that read a bit saucy??), i always said the frame was a little too small for me but it took bumps and curbs in it's stride and when powering off it held it's stance and took no prisoners. Compared to my alloy bianchi which can be likened to jelly, it was ten times better.
The forks i have are lovely, they have been drilled (not by me) but are lovely double bridged track forks which unfortunately i will be keeping as am going to try and repair the old bugger.
Just a quick pic.... i must look away now as will sob uncontrolably....
