I'd look at SJSCycles and at Thorn frames. Or Bob Jackson. It depends really on what you want.

I want a new one I reckon - the last one was from Gumtree and only lasted 6 months.
It probably went through fatigue more than anything else - I ride to work and back every day over North London's buggered up roads. It's an 84 Raleigh frame which developed a creaking noise this morning when pedalling hard. When I looked closer at lunch, there is a little crack running horizontally across the front of the head tube and pushing the frame makes the creaking happen. I'll get a piccy sorted later, so you can all have a butchers.
The budget is in the hundreds - maybe £300 - £400 or something like that? I might get all carried away and spend more though.
The other components (which are being kept) are Campag Khamsin gold wheels and Profile Airwing handlebars, along with Suntour drivetrain (square BB axle - BB could do with replacing) and brakes. These are being kept because the gold matches the wheels and I dont fancy paying for new ones right now!
What do you reckon? I need to get it sorted quick, so would prefer a shop I can just pitch up at and hand of the spondoolies.

Cavendish Cycles on New Cavendish road stock a lot of lovely jubbly bikes, frames of which you could buy separately if you wanted. the guys there can give you 2nd to none advice based on what you want. :)

for ~£400 and a bit of time trawling t'interweb, you could have yourself a half decent commuting bike. £400 will buy you a lot of frame, possibly more than you need? then keep the wheels for sunday best?

did terry dolan try to start a fight with you because you smiled at him once when you beat him a race 20 years ago then take you to court?

For £400, you can easily get a Steve Goff custom frame.
I paid £500 for mine, but that included somewhat fancy lugs and paintjob.
Total time from sending the cheque to recieving the frame was 3.5 weeks, but again, with a simpler paintjob that would be shorter. -

What about a Gios Pista?

Arnoon you lot,
So me frame has a nasty crack in the head tube and is headed for the bin. Where do I get a new one from? 56cm geared (I know) preferably in black with no stickers. Where would you lot look first?
Ta,
