+1 for freewheeling on a road bike being scary.
i was riding a geared road bike a few weeks ago and it felt like i just wasn't gonna be able to stop! even compared to riding brakeless normally.
maybe i'm just not used to brakes any more. although i've only been without one for a couple of months.
