  • What do you want to do on your bike before you die, win a big race? ride cross country? or beat that roodie scum on his carbon bike you see every morning?

I want to ride across the usa LA, to Portland OR, to Portland Mane, To NYC

  • i wouldn't mind riding across Europe and Asia and maybe Australia...if i have any steam left after that i would like to ride across the states.

  • but my realistic goals are to make it to Sainsburrys without having to have a rest halfway.

  • I want to do a long unsupported ride this summer to raise money for charity, not sure what do to yet though. Was thinking about trying to do Paris in two days rather than the three that the organised charity rides take, though that could potentially just be silly.

  • Complete the Dragon Ride in June under 24 hours.

  • I beat roadie scum every morning. In fact the same guy every day. I think he is beginning to get a little upset with me! I want to get really into track racing and cycle across Europe

  • I'd like to beat the hour for a 25 mile time trial, doubt I will but will keep trying

its possible to ride from London to Paris in 2 days...me, dt and hops rode from Deippe to Paris in a day.

could be done, if you pushed hard.

  • To fix a puncture in under 2 mins.....

  • my goal is to have fun.

This summer i'm hitting France and doing Oz and James' big wine Adventure with my bike. Couple of summers ago it was NYC. Before that it was SF and Oregon. Gonna keep on roadtripping forever.

    Good, that's the idea!

Which route did you take? And what kind of pace where you riding?

Was thinking about going further overland, from Calais...

  • ride lift assisted alpine singletrack without falling off and injuring myself on the first day of a holiday.
continue to beat uphill roadies on expensive bikes on my fixed (and sometimes on my mtb).
possibly become a roadie with an expensive bike.

i'm not sure of the route we took,i wasn't the route master...Dave might know.
the pace was good...nothing too strenuous.we made a few stops at villages to top up on food and water.

  • If anybody here is cycling to Paris or beyond in the summer I would be 100% up for it. Wife and I are going to a friends in the South of France sometime in August . She won;t be cycling, probably flying. But I would live to leave a week earlier and cycle all the way there. Or at least some of the way. If anyone here is up for doing this please let me know

    you mean zig zag?

  • yeah kinda, go from dc or boston down through tenesse to georgia, back up towards illinois, nebraska, down again through colorado, new mexico, arizona, then up the west coast. would be soo good, so much variety in terrain and suroundings, get a good taste of all the different states.

  • like a big 'W'

  • i get ya

  • go west to east, prevailing winds.

  • oregon - maine: would you go across the north, skirting the lakes and such? or swing down through the centre?

  • me, i'd go through the north peninsula of michigan, because it's just about the most beautiful part of that country.
