Diesel jeans are SHIT for cycling. They go at the crotch after a few months. Happened to me twice and that's a shitload of cash down the pan... Think I'm just gonna get cheap ones from now on

I have some great fatface ones that are pretty sturdy

I busted the crotch on a pair recently and baing loathe to throw them out went to a small repaird / tailor shop and he put an awesome patch over the whole crotch area and did some serious strengthening. All for £10. Much cheaper than a new pair of strides.

Lee Jeans ! Haven't torn either - considering I've had a few tumbles now and again.

Joe where did you go? Perhaps my positively indeecent slpit-crotch jeans can be resurrected...

I've heard Geordie Jeans are pretty good, especially as they are tight roond the arse

I must wear jeans for most of my cycling and have never had any real problems with them (Levis for what its worth). They do wear out on the arse (how do you wear the crutch out?), but then I line the arse and they go for ages. I've never done more than a 50 miler in jeans though - touring I of course wear padded lycra. Obviously if i'm specifically going on a ride as opposed to going from A to B for a purpose I'll again wear more suitable stuff, but in themselves they seem no less suitable than any other cotton trousers.

What size waist are you Vinz, I still have a pair of original Japanes Evis, hardly worn
I'd also reccommend trying to hunt down any 'DENIME' jeans from Japan - ace!

Best jeans for riding in for me are Nudie 'Slim Jim' in black. Not too slim BUT they have elastic in them and are great for 'getting you leg over'! :-)

Try Mecca jeans, or for that matter any brand designed and ridden by BMXers. Long lived. Mine get worn a lot and haven't worn in the slightest on the crotch. 3 years and still spinning!

I'll have to check the leg, you know me, I'm a shortarse, I think I had them shortened...
Plus, I'll want good money for them, they're the original Japanese, not the pony Italian efforts

decent jean rather than cheap jobbies, Levi's being the first come to mind, affordable and strong, it get better with age rather than worse, like Uniqlo for instance.
it's moot really, just get a jean that's most comfortable for you.

£8 jeans from Primark... you can get a new pair every 2 months!
-

Levi's twisted, the baggy ones, they do trick for me, if not £8 primark sound good
