  • After buying an old pug carbolite 103 frame...

I am thinking if i could fit cyclocross wheels on them? 700 x 32?

    is this consider bad??

and is the carbolite 103 really a classic? According to my research... it is the first bike that peugot mass produce using cheap steel.....

    comments??

  • Carbolite 103 is rubbish. Hack away, I know I did.

  • carbolite 103 bikes can only be improved by fixing them.

I had one a while back.

    no infant canine fatality required

  • u think i could fit cyclocross wheels on them?? and carbon fork??

  • no infant canine fatality required

AMEN... you put my soul at rest....

  • if the wheels are 700c then you should be ok.
the peugeot rear hub spacing is 126mm, you may have to spring it out for a 130mm hub..

    carbon forks:

you need some with a 1" steerer and will have to change the headset.

  • the ebay guy told me they were 120mm

  • track hub then.

what axle width does your CC rear wheel have?

  • no puppies die for carbolite. ever.

  • Newts though, are another story..

  • that's newts to me.

  • i have nothing... the frame is in transit... and have not got any other bits yet...
once the frame arrived and I have found a fork and headset... you will see me beging on here for bits and pieces...

  • how much?

  • how much??

I am doing it on the cheap first time around.... so as cheap as possible... 2 to 300 pounds all together??
and over time i will upgrade it like my other road bikes...

  • how much did this slab of scaffolding set you back?

  • on the subject of canine and feline dying...

has anyone (god forbid) taken their bikes on the tube??

    2 reason for asking...

    1) just got wifey a bike...and she wants to go for a ride at Richmond park... and there is no way she will make it there...
    2) few months ago i had a badish accident... the fxxking bastard came out of no where and i went over his car...(and drove off...) anyway the front wheel was bustard and try to get on a bus to go to work (A&E) and the bus driver gave me the finger... and drove off

  • some lines you can, some you can't.
from memory I think you're ok on the District (Richmond)
    Check tfl.

  • i had an accident one day and convinced the tube people to let me take my bike on the tube since i couldn't ride it home. they were quite nice about it, but said it was definitely an exception.

  • you (generally) cant take unfolded bikes on the tube but you can get an overland train to richmond which runs from waterloo

  • THANK YOU ...

overland would be good.... as i live in golders green...

  • one inch carbon forks are easy to find, i have some on my bike profile racing ones 99 us cents on ebay $10 shipping

  • Profile Design?

Profile Racing are the BMX gods
