Most people riding conversions with forward facing drop-outs don't run chaintugs. They are good but not essential by any means. You should be keeping an eye on the chain tension for a bit anyway if your fitting a new chain. Oh, and use a longer spanner if your not tightening your nuts properly.
The biggest pain with running forward facing drop-outs is they tend to be rather short so i have to run a half-link in the chain. I hate messing with chains.
