I've never built up a Pug, but they'll probably have French threading. I don't really understand what the concern is about the threading - if you buy a miche BB from Condor (about £10-15) they'll give you cups for whatever threading you need, as I recall, and you can always pester people on Ebay about whatever it is they're selling.
Anything English or Japanese should have English threading. Don't know about the threading on those Dutch Gazelles, but they're pretty bomb-proof bikes and nicely made.
But yeah, if it looks like it'll fit and it's a reasonable deal, go for it!
