Can't imagine there's much liability in mentioning the existence of pirated films - pirated films which I would never download!

See now I thought it was overpriced and underorganised. Glass half empty/full situation for sure.(I think being knackered from ride this morning didn't help, and the fact that I'm pissed off that Arsenal can't hold onto a lead).

Did anyone manage to work out what happened to George Hincapie? All I saw was him getting caught up in the team car traffic trying to chase down the Peloton.
-
• #82
had a puncture i think ( no commentry to help but ...)
then there was an attack, making the pace of whole pelton faster and meaning it took him longer and more effort to get onto them
please correct me though -

thought it was free?

Granted it didn't cost to get in but £3:10 for a bottle of Becks and £18:00 for steak frites was a bit steep. Perhaps they hiked the prices knowing they had a Rapha crowd coming in? ;-) -

more likely rapha picked a pricey place and negotiated 10 percent of the takings

Hincapie punctured and Van Summeren attacked around the same time. He (VS) was joined by the three leaders and the rest, is history.

nothing like that.
it's a reasonably pricey french place, on battersea rise FFS.
much as I don't care for rapha's stuff, and certainly the price of it, I know for a fact that they make no money from events like this.

The damn waitress kept distracting me with her strangely attractive ginger face...
£6.50 Gin and Lemonade aside it was pretty good, especially as British Eurosport only showed 20km.

I have to agree with this! They obviously gain some brand recog, but they promote events like this cos they (Simon and Luke) are into cycling. That's why they got into the cycle clothing business in the first place, as opposed to starting some other company designing high end products for premium prices.

I think it's great that Rapha are doing stuff to galvanise interest in cycling. Was just tired and could've done with a seat when I was there. Then I was pissed off with the football. I ain't hating. If you wanted me to talk about the quality of their clothing however...

Wasn't a puncture; his Hed carbon rim broke
Caption reads " High Road's George Hincapie passed over his specially built Paris-Roubaix machine and instead went with his usual Giant TCR Advanced SL Team."

guess what... today's bikesnobnyc is about P-R and Hincapie's wheel choice is a big part of it:

Puncture was what the commentators said at the time.

its true though
carbon wheels are a BAD choice for flanders and roubaix tbh
