  • Anyone know about sizing lowpro TT bikes?
I am tempted to buy the bike dogsballs linked to on ebay a few days ago(http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ORBIT-RACING-FRAME-531-COMPETITION-STEEL-METALIC-BLUE_W0QQitemZ200213359214QQihZ010QQcategoryZ22679QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQ_trksidZp1638.m118.l1247QQcmdZViewItem) think it may be a bit tiny for me!
I currently ride a 56cm, the specs the give are:

DISTANCE FROM TOP TUBE TO CENTRE OF BOTTOM BRACKET SHELL; 60CM
DISTANCE FROM TOP TUBE SADDLE PIN CENTRE TO STEERER TUBE CENTRE; 52CM
DITANCE FROM BOTTOM BRACKET SHELL CENTRE TO STEERER TUBE CENTRE; 55CM
centre of seat tube where seat pin fits in to the point where it meets the steerer tube- straight line distance= 20 3/4 inches

What do you think, I am 6'0" and am trying to remember my inside leg as I write this?

EDIT: I get the feeling that it is actually about the right size, might have to pull the trigger!

Sounds perfect to me.. I'm 5'10" and mine is a 59/60,.. fits me with the saddle low, but would probably be better for a 6-footer.

Looks like a bargain, I'm surprised its still there. 'ave it!

  • Well, it seems I know own that, this happens far too often...
I have a nice Shimano 600 groupset lying around that I can throw on it... now I just need some wheels!

  • okay, I've ended up with a eight speed dura-ace hub laced to an open pro I don't really need.

How much do you reckon I might get on the bay for it?

If it's only gonna be a few quid I'll leave in the shed/un-lace the open pro and put a track hub on it, I'm not convinced it's going to be worth the effort of posting etc...

looks to be cheap, not no brand, maybe stolen....

Not stolen, but they are pretty shit
I went and picked one up for a friend
he has lots of them, some good colour combos from what he described. (only had 2 with him) (peral white frame with yellow rims. had some white wall 700cs as well
I don't think it actually had a lock ring thread on the hub, ive got to take
the free wheel off and see looks like its only sitting on the top part of a fixed side.
    worth £200 but no more.

  • inevitable :(

yates is also going up tomorrow, once i get photo's. if you want parts off that let me know b4 tomorrow

    £999! What am i missing?

  • £999! What am i missing?

everyone bitching that i shouldn't sell it. :(

  • everyone bitching that i shouldn't sell it. :(

Its not that your selling it. It the £999 price tag! As much as it looks to be a beautiful bike £999 seem excessive.

  • That Cinelli Laser has some sex in those rear stays curving ever so subtley.

  • as stated previously, it is high, but testing the water and don't really want to sell ;)

  • Graham weigh/ Campag record 853 beauty.

This is looking set to be a bargain.
56cm fully built 853 steel track bike. Full Campag record stuff (crankset, hubs, seat post).

    Someone win it.

still got a 1 days and 9 hrs to go
in the last hour it will go upto £300+

  • That Cinelli went for about £666! 'twas nice though.

Is that really how ebay works though? Last hour people will jump and the price will fly? I'm not much of an ebay-savy person, but I'm watching a couple of things (Pongo frame Dogsballs linked to, and the Peugeot tandem Eyebrows linked to). I'm thinking the tandem may end up being sub £200 (I hope?), but not much hope for the track frame...

  • yeah no one makes a real bid untill the end, no point in shooting your load early

  • that's a bit shitty. I'm going to be on a ferry in the middle of the sea on my way to Spain on the day both those auctions end.

  • auctionsniper.com is your freind then

  • get someone to do it for you. Or just put your absolute maximum before you leave, cos then it doesn't really matter. Just did that and won whilst on the marathon ride (not bike related) + got an absolute bargain (~half my max bid).

  • I just realized the track frame ends in 2 day 5 hours, not 5 days and 2 hours. Dyslexic moment. But auction sniper seems interesting (free first time - or else I would have done Eyebrow's method) for the tandem... Thanks for the link!

  • 56cm is my size.. and ooh I'm now the winning bidder..

Ah crap, it's not a road bike!

  • not found on craiglists or eBay but what do you think of this

    cost me £20, 54cm frame - raleigh

  • Well it's worth way more than that. What a nice bike.

I have a new 1" threaded headset (Shimano Ultegra) if it needs it.

  • This guy is selling these shorts using this picture (among other shockers). What. The . Fuck

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PARAMOUNT-ORANGE-Cycling-Spandex-Shorts_W0QQitemZ190214559937QQihZ009QQcategoryZ101708QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

This got returned when I searched for pista (honestly)

  • Oh sweet fuck - I just clicked on "View Seller's other items". I can't bring myself to post the images.
