The gearing 48:16 may not be low enough to keep you comfortable whilst riding, causing knee problems and a general lack of souplesse in your cycling action.
Nothing is wrong with the cog, it's just that Phil woods are much better. They won't make you go faster, but a different gear ratio can make the bike easier to control and that can make you faster.
Reflectors and a bell must be supplied with any new bike intended for road use, as of a law passed last year.
Get the fuji track, you won't regret it. No one here has said anything bad about it to my knowledge.
