seriously, i find this a bit extreme, and a more than a little bourgeois. i'm sorry the bike was stolen, really i am, but i'm more sorry that we live in a world of hyper-capitalism, where the gap between rich and poor is wider than it has ever been, and where people feel impelled to steal posh italian bicycles left in silly places because making skinny macchiattos or selling mobile phones to rich city whores or slavish media (read creative) slatterns who have gorged at the high table isn't the most redemptive experience.

People stole stuff before the industrialisation of production. It's just people being people.
