On another forum of mine I got involved in this hoo-haa, and called someone 'dear' in pretty much the same context as Bill just did. I think I'm still hated for that. Some people take being patronised on the internet very badly. I take illogical thought pretty badly.

My other favourite put-down is, "Don't make me come over there...". That also gets me in all kinds of trouble.
I just can't help but be a clutz online. It's a very limited media.
