Whilst I agree with Mr Smith, I have a limited budget and I bought myself a Mongoose Teocali. It is fantastic fun.
There are plenty of bikes out there in that price bracket that you can use, abuse then upgrade, the frames on a lot of them are good enough for this purpose.
