mashton @lucky, if we sort something out then you're on. It'll be good to have a group. And thanks for the confidence boost, re: 6 hours :-)

Thats nothing I am running in a 10,000 units run over easter. I don't use a watch to gauge the time I just use the angle of the sun as a guide.

just realised i read Cambridge as Brighton, silly me.
mashton, i reckon when we did the cambridge ride back in nov we took just as long so don't worry about it.
you are right though there are no hills. that drag through epping is as bad as it gets. and dunwich is similarly flat. honest ;)

I did wonder why you thought someone may have been killed!
The annoying thing about the Epping drag is that, with the trees, it looks flat. It just felt like I had lost all energy for no good reason. A Faux Plats?

If I ever do it I'll be sure and take all manner of data logging equipment and provide any stat you require. Elevation profile, etc. How many chocolate doughnuts required, etc.

mashton, last oct (at the beginning of a 160 miler ;) ) i took a draft up that whole epping drag from a JCB - best way to go.
will be up for another cambridge blast if people get it organised. i am feeling way too lazy to do anything but ride at the moment

I'd up for it too.
I was out of action at the time of the last cambridge ride courtesy of a little incident.Would prefer it to be towards the end of march though as I'm dismantling the bike soon for some serious tlc.

The road surface is very speed/energy sapping - it's even worse on the other side, but you can kind of hover over it if you keep above 30mph.
Ahem, it's more like 14mph when you factor in stops.
And, I'd fucking LOVE to see you run over 60 miles. The only people I know who can do that are Gurkhas. Tori did Trailwalkers this year, a 100km non stop walk. her time was about 23 hours. The Gurkhas ran the thing and did it in sub 10 hours. Mentalists.
