the flats and nobrake could be an issue, but £230 is peanuts in these days of high fashion.

Is it your size? I'd buy it. You could probably ebay it for more.

That's a pretty decent deal - although it wants a new set of pedals.
IROs are pretty common here in San Francisco, and I've never ever heard a single complaint from anyone about them. The hubs are rebranded Formulas and the rims are (allegedly) debranded Velocity Aeroheads.
For £230, you'd be daft not to.

IRO make great frames and the parts are all fairly solid, if not flash. That's worth it even if it's knackered.

Sano frame and forks are £180 over here I think...
BUY! BUY! BUY!

Apart from Cavendish occasionally – who else brings IRO frames to the UK?

Hi folks, first post I’ve been lurking fore a while. I’ve been riding an old road bike conversion for a while, with forward facing dropouts, 700c on a 27” frame. Considering a new frame, I’m looking for something a bit tighter but not too tight so that there is toe overlap. I was considering an IRO Mark V in size 53. Anyone got one? And is there any overlap? Thanks in advance Beidge.

there shouldnt be any over lap seeing as it is designed for use on the road,
so i think your okay in that department -

I'd be surprised if you didn't get toe overlap on any track-ish bikes. To be honest, it's not really a problem, you get used to it. The only time you notice it is at low speeds when you're turning so you just need to keep that in mind.

Hi beidge - I ride an IRO and love it - not the lightest in the world but a good town bike!
As for the overlap not noticed any! -

so i think your okay in that departmentFrames designed for road often have overlap as well.. I have two roadbikes with toe overlap, one of them being an "Ideal Tempo" and the other being my old steel racing/touring-bike, both my track bikes has as well.
It is not a problem.. you get used to it :)

+1
My road bike have toe overlap too and thats a 57 cm.
Smaller bike are more likely to have toe overlap too.

I've got a 53cm IRO Mark V and there is quite a definate toe overlap, but it isn't too bad if you use medium toe straps.
Too be honest Sano is right - Track bikes (although the Mark V isn't a proper track bike, but it has similar geometry) all have some kind of toe overlap.
I'm very glad I upgraded from my road conversion, the difference in the ride is amazing, the shorter wheelbase means its really snappy for riding round town.

Guys and girls,
I stripped my clamp the other day and am having a nightmare trying to replace it. I went to my local shop and got a replacement, it was too large. I go back and swap it and again it turns out to be too large.
Steel frame takes a 27.2 post, does anyone know what size clamp it takes? If I have to go back to the shop one more time I'm going to fucking explode.
Thanks in advance,
Andy

You need an inverted shim.
i humbly ask for your fine advice: i have a chance to buy an IRO Mark V 56cm in mint condition. its all IRO in house hardware, but is ~£230 a fair price? and does anyone have any alarm bells about the bike itself?
