people are touchy about having a number related to there name so they can choose any number they want, but then have a real number
also 36 people in 3 days and over a month till the ride, this has a large chance of being massive

Surely we don't need a precise number. A long list dictates many people. A short one is a few people and somewhere inbetween is, infact, a medium sized group?
