Long time ago, in my teens, summer's day outside on the lawn.. you get the picture.
Stripping the forks on my bmx "SE reynolds racer" . . big brushful of paint globbed nitromorse straight into my eye.
No one at home to take me to hospital, quick rinse of the eye did nothing to stop the fiery pain. I ended up hastily putting my bike back together and riding a mile to the hospital. I'd remembered to take the tin of nitro with me so the casualty staff would know what was in it. They basically mixed up some kind of gel and put it in an eye bath.
by the time i got home the nitromorse on the forks had completely dried and kind of welded itself to the paint never to be removed completely.
