i would much rather ride london streets on a properly built open pro wheel and a 'normal' weight butted steel bike, deep v's are heavy and only pinned plus not such a comfortable ride, just because it's heavy doesn't mean it's stronger.
butted lighter tubes give a more supple ride, it's not as if wheels and frames are regularly failing because of london potholes is it?
