You will probably find none are in stock anywhere until the new 2008 models arrive in Feb.
A brand new 2007 (54cm) went for only £260 last week on ebay.
I'm totally gutted about another one though - an immaculate 2005 model on ebay - when I emailed the guy last week he agreed to sell it off ebay for £180 - I was all due to collect it last Saturday but due to a cock up could not get there. Meanwhile he got more bids...and changed his mind
...it ended on £300 last night.
Clucking Bell.

A new 2007 49cm has just come on ebay at Cycledelia - they were the ones who sold the brand new 2007 54cm for £260 last week.

Cheers Max, I actualy sat on that exact bike a couple of weeks ago but it was too small and was the only size the guy had in the shop. I think I would need a 56/58 but I need to see some in the flesh to figure it out. I bought a bike off ebay a while back which turned out to be too small so I don't want to make that mistake again.

Just to dig this up again, anyone know of a cheap Fuji Track f&f in a 56cm size going? Need another project and may as well build a beater around one of these.
Cheers, chris

[edit] just noticed the date on this thread
if anyone still wants to size a fuji track you're welcome to check out my 56cm 07 model at the monopoly ride. It's not for sale, tho unfortunately ;) -

so i want a singlespeed/fixie, with the option of using both, so rear brake needed for single. looking around, and it looks like you can only get a front brake for the Fuji. Are there any bikes in a simular style (bianchi comes to mind) that i can put brakes on?
im also in Japan, so somewhat limited choice here, especially in a 58/60 frame.
any suggestions would be great :)

How much do you want to spend?
You should just go fixed straightaway ;) As MrSmith said when I was asking about this last year, "it's like sucking a boiled sweet with the wrapper still on."
And it is, it is indeed.
-
• #293
whats a boiled sweet?
Bianchi pistas are not drilled for a rear brake, you should be able to use a bolt on rear on either bike. unless the fuji has a wishboned seat stay bridge

chris crash whats a boiled sweet?
Hard candy. (with wrapper on)

i dont really wanna spend more than a Fuji (£280 here in Japan) if i can help it. the main issue is, as it would be my only bike, and Kobe is a tad hilly, having the option of single over fixed is appealing to me.
also, i know 58 is kinda small for someone 6ft2, but would it be fine, seeing as im not racing? they dont come bigger than that!
-
• #296
fuji is drilled for rear brake. i am 6"2, for a while i rode a 56, which was fine, a 58 would have been perfect.

what is it about the hills that concerns you? going up or down?
going up is really easy fixed
going down, well you get used to it :)I don't know about sizing I'm afraid.
The only other thing I can think of is a Langster. They get a lot of bashing on here, but they're very good value for money. Don't know what the price is in Japan.
-
• #298
thanks Pj and eeehhh :)
its the going down that worries me on a fixed, ive only messed around on friends, so am hardly proficient (having watched youtube videos of guys in San Fransisco i know its possible).
langster's are, err 85,000yen which is £450 or so. I was hoping, if possible, to get something somewhat Japanese while i saw here, and i saw somewhere that the Fuji's are made in Japan?
and thanks on the sizing and drilling info, i didnt know :)

fujis def take a rear brake, i've fitted one in the past. just get a shimano 105 for front and back, some cable ties to secure the rear to the top tube, and you're away. it's a piece of piss. you can take it off when you feel you don't need it no more.

brixton cycles used to sell them?
