i was lying. i'm not getting a ti drivetrain :-)
although it's interesting about the hardness, will a ti-nitride coating last that long? is it only a few thousands of an inch thick thick?
the longest lasting chainrings i have ever used are stainless steel, been using a surly one on my ss mtb for 2 years and it's hardly worn.
