Well, I don't suppose there's any harm in asking for six hundred and fifty quid. I mean, if someone's willing to part with the cash... Market forces and all that.
Actually, I bought my fixed off the Raleigh seller as a complete bike. Not sure about the quality of the conversion: the gearing was insane for riding on the road and the chainline was a wee bit out. The chain itself was weird too.
I suppose I knew I was going to change most of the bits on my bike when I bought it. But I got a nice set of wheels, a crank with a wee bit of class, and a professional-looking DIY paint job on an elegant - if fairly unremarkable - frame. Basically, this is all boiling down to the fact that - if anyone's thinking about buying the Raleigh :-) - the seller seems like quite a decent bloke. I got my bike within a couple of days and he'd wrapped it up like it was worth ten grand.
