Mine is called "Toro"....
Why? It's a Charge Plug (hence why I found myself here!) and the name just came to me when I imagined spearing a wayward taxi with the horns. First fixed and first post.
Yes, it's not the lightest - but neither am I (!) but it is quick and fun - Kings Cross to Lewisham flies by - and rolls through pretty much everything that the London streets have to throw at me. I love it - my poor Bianchi Camaleonte III left sadly in the corner. That one doesn't have a name though.

My bike doesn't have a name.
I may call it 'kunt puncher'.
Or 'bloodpoo'.
Any thoughts?

mines a longster, don't know if my current build will have a name probably "The Mistress", thats what my girlfriend considers my bike, she says i ride her too much

"the road bike"
"the track bike"(they're both fujis).
I rode a mate's Plug the other day, just for a few minutes in the the street. It is quite heavy, but i found it very comfy to ride (much more than my fuji track). he had it set up singlespeed, which i found bloody odd... but then every time i get on my road bike it feels odd now, so yeah. so the plug: i like it. it felt solid and stable and dependable.
still glad i bought my fuji though, cos there's no doubt it's quicker.

Yeah badtmy, it is quite heavy - I will be changing the rather excessive tyres soon - but it is the comfyness that I love. And looking at the early evening gloom of London descend, it will get a good trial home in the wet tonight!

yeah i'm thinking that for winter the skittish handling and 23mm tires on the fuji might be a little unnerving... better build meself a new bike!

Hi. First time poster but a big fan of the forums.
I've been a commuting cyclist in London for ten years, and I want to try riding a FG bike.
I'm not a courier, just a media wanker type who wants to look like one, so the bike isn't going to get really harsh treatment.
I'm looking at this bike:
Charge Plug
It's a cheapo, but I wondered if you think it will get me from Finsbury park to the West End five times a week.Any of you know anything about it?
Thanks

there's an old thread all about the Charge Plug

Hi fakenger35,
Welcome.
There is a whole thread about this bike here http://www.londonfgss.com/discussion/799/3/charge-plug/#Item_39
I own one, and do Wimbledon to Tower Bridge quite happily daily. Its a bit heavy but its nice and solid and fun to ride.
Hope that helps.

Thanks. It sounds like just what I want. I've never ridden really pricey bikes, so I won't notice the lower spec. kit, and the weight doesn't really bother me.
I'm getting one. -

where from?

Mind your own.

my favourite first post ever!

I'll get it from a local bike shop for local people if I can. Two Wheels Good is my local-est. Unless someone's going to tell me that they're crap. Can't fork out 'till the new year anyway. Any advice appreciated.

Two Wheels Good are fine for geared bikes, and they've recently started stocking fixed bikes, but I would go down to BLB and try a few out in the same price range. You are much more likely to return there further down the line becuase TWG doesn't stock a great deal of fixed stuff besides the off-the-peg bikes.

Oh, right. Ta.
So that'll be BLB near, erm... thingy.
Yeah, I usually go there for stuff.
Where is it again?
Thanks!

BLB = Brick Lane Bikes
And yeah, Two Wheels Good is my local bike shop too, but they're a miserable bunch of cunts in there, and they overcharge on pretty much everything IMO. -

Brick Lane Bikes....like...right off Brick Lane.
They've got a decent website too
mine's called Malibu Stacey.
when you meet her you'll understand.......
